This tall, hardy evergreen shrub needs to be planted in a sheltered spot but will flourish in full sun or partial shade and in moist, well-drained soil. Reaching its mature 4m x 2m height and spread in around 10 years, it can be pruned in late winter or early spring to keep it in shape.
