Details / Key Facts
Pittosporum tenuifolium – Tom Thumb is a superb dwarf evergreen with small leaves which begin green but turn a rich, deep purple. Forms a neat, dense mound, 90cm high and wide, remaining perfectly compact even without trimming. Delightful at the front of a mixed border. Valued by flower arrangers.
Thrives especially in mild and coastal areas, but will survive all but severe winters in colder inland areas provided it is planted in well-drained soil, in a warm site sheltered from cold winds. If grown in a container requires protection from frost in winter.
