Details / Key Facts

Amelanchier lamarckii – Snowy Mespilus has white, star-shaped flowers. This plant is easily grown in average, medium, well-drained soil under full sun to part shade. Lamarckii is tolerant of a somewhat wide range of soils, but prefers moist, well-drained loams. It has berries like pome fruits that are dark red when young, but become dark purple with time. The fruits are edible and have an apple and sweet flavour. It is widely cultivated as an ornamental plant.

Langley Horticulture recommend 5 plants per metre in a double staggered row.Grow in moist, lime free, well-drained soil. The best autumn colour is achieved when grown in full sun.
